Location: Philadelphia PA

Duration: 4-month contract

Schedule: 8 hours/week (Tuesdays & Fridays)

Compensation: $35.15/hour ($4,500 total)

Part-Time Artist Assistant Opportunity

Nazeer Sabree Studios is seeking a Part-Time Artist Assistant to support the daily operations of a professional fine art studio. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with the artistic process, assist in studio management, and contribute to my in studio process and events. Ideal candidates will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about contemporary art.

Key Responsibilities

  • Studio Maintenance & Preparation – Organize materials, maintain a clean and efficient workspace, stretch and prime canvases, and prepare surfaces for artwork.

  • Art Production Assistance – Assist in executing artworks under the artist’s direction, including preparatory tasks such as base coating, sanding, varnishing, and finishing details.

  • Documentation & Archiving – Photograph completed works, maintain an organized archive, and assist with social media content related to the studio’s projects.

  • Logistics & Administrative Support – Manage inventory, coordinate packing and transportation of artworks, and assist with exhibition installations and studio events.

Qualifications & Expectations

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Experience or demonstrated interest in fine art production and studio practices

  • Basic knowledge of photography and digital documentation

  • Ability to lift and transport artworks and materials as needed

  • Professional demeanor in both studio and public settings
